DIY Vanilla

Pure homemade vanilla extract smells heavenly...

adds intense flavour to baked goods...

and makes a fun little gift from the kitchen.

  

And who knew it could be so easy to make?

All you need is vodka and vanilla beans.

Once your extract is finished steeping...

bottle it and use it to your heart's content.

Or share it with your friends.

Celebration Party Place Cards

My daughter was hosting a dinner party...a celebratory one...and was wondering if I would make up some place cards.  I used Hershey kisses as the base...and added place cards with ribbon tags to match.

• Hershey Kisses
• Place Cards
• Sharpie Silver Marker
• Ribbon
• Double-sided tape
• Paper clips

1. Write names on place cards.
2. Cut diagonal ends of 5-inch pieces of ribbon.  Fold ribbon in middle and attach inside place card (top left corner) with double-sided tape.
3. Straighten out one end of paper clip and poke into center of a Hershey kiss.
4. Insert place card into paper clip.
5. Done!
